VISION AND VALUES STATEMENT

The core values of AOMI are what inform our present practice along with driving our progress into the future. These core values comprise three key philosophical elements: “Take Education to the People,” “Innovate and Create,” and “Be Excellent.”
We believe that as AOMI grows and expands, our core philosophies will keep us centered, ensuring that we act with both integrity and excellence.

  • Take Education to the People

AOMI’s core philosophy is that music education is something ALL individuals should have access to, regardless of geographical location, work schedule, or otherwise. Our innovative course structure and learning environment has been birthed from this philosophy and will continue to inform our practice and methodology in the future.

  • Innovate and Create

Thinking outside the box is what has birthed AOMI. In order to stay on the forefront and the cutting edge of music education, we will strive to embrace new models and emerging technologies, and create innovative pathways, always keeping our “Take Education to the People” philosophy at the forefront of our collective consciousness.

  • Be Excellent

Delivering excellence to our students is the third core tenet of AOMI. This philosophy applies not only to our course content, but the manner in which our staff and students interact with each other, the way in which we present ourselves, and much, much more. “Be Excellent” is the underpinning tenet of AOMI and informs our values, our ethics, and our practice.

e-LEARNING TECHNOLOGY

  • AOMI employs a range of e-learning technologies, in order to deliver the course content in an engaging and flexible manner, appealing to a wide-range of student learner types. These technologies include the following: LMS (learning management system) audio, video, blogs/chats/forums, webcam instructionals, screen-casting and more. We believe that our course content should be engaging, exciting, entertaining and of course, educational!
  • We are constantly striving to improve upon our methods and our resources. At the end of the day, we believe that a music education should be something that everyone has access to, regardless of your geographical location or your work schedule.

"We need to bring learning to people instead of people to learning." Elliot Masie, Masie Center
