Introduction
A part-time, online programme delivered in partnership with the Bank of England.
Built with finance industry professionals in mind this specialised modular programme has been designed to introduce you to the latest evidence-led and practice-informed financial regulation and monetary policy.
Offering a choice of three intake dates and four qualification levels, this course would be valuable to those working in the Banking or the Finance sector, be that central, commercial or retail banking, regulatory, advisory, or investment banking.
Due to its modular nature, you may choose to study a single module contributing to your personal development and granting you a Postgraduate Award qualification upon successful completion or enrol on a higher award up to a Masters qualification.
Choose to start in either February, June or October each year.

This programme is suitable for professionals working in the banking, financial or related sectors who are looking to evidence their knowledge, gain insight or even change focus into central banking, commercial or retail banking, financial auditing and regulation or other related sectors.

This programme is suitable for those looking to evidence their knowledge, gain insight or develop their career in central banking or financial regulation and seeks to spread the best thought leadership in financial regulation to central bankers, financial regulators and all finance professionals in the global financial industry.

Programme structure
The programme offers four qualification levels, ranging from a single module (Postgraduate Award) to a full MSc and for each qualification level you may choose to start in either October, February or June.
The MSc
The full MSc Global Central Banking and Financial Regulation consists of six 20 credit modules (from a choice of seven) and a
Research Methods and Dissertation module. As a guide, you can expect to spend approximately 11 hours studying each week.
Shorter awards
Alternatively, you may wish to initially commit to a single module, which upon successful completion will grant you a Postgraduate Award qualification in that subject.
From this, you may build up to a higher qualification level such as a Postgraduate Certificate (on completion of three 20 credit modules), a Postgraduate Diploma (on completion of six 20 credit modules) or a full MSc.

- Successful completion of six modules grants the participant a Postgraduate Diploma
- Successful completion of seven modules (including the Research Methods & Dissertation module) grants the participant a full MSc qualfication.

Modules are delivered sequentially throughout the year with intakes in September, February and June. For module content please click on the relevant module in the Module Information section below.
Typically one module will span a 17 week period, culminating in an assessment. As a guide, you can expect to spend approximately 11 hours studying each week.
The MSc can be completed in two years but is more readily manageable in combination with a full working timetable over three years. There is flexibility in the order the modules are studied.
Research Methods and Dissertation
In order to achieve the MSc award, you will be required to successfully complete a Research Methods and Dissertation module. You will be assigned a WBS supervisor who will support you through your dissertation.
