Introduction
Whether you’re looking to define your media career, modernize your digital communication chops, or seek a career change or promotion, the Robertson School's Master's Concentration in Media Leadership will help you master the skills necessary in today’s media landscape. The concentration will grow journalists’ and media professionals’ careers by strengthening entrepreneurial and managerial competencies. The courses instill a writing practice to bring words to life across platforms and build culture. They equip you with best practices to lead a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.
You can choose to complete the fully online degree in as few as 12 months, or attend part-time and build a flexible course schedule that suits your needs. Full-time students will take two courses over two summer semesters and three classes each fall and spring semesters.

Program Outcome
Upon successful completion of the media leadership concentration, you will:
- Demonstrate higher level skills in critical thinking
- Master written and multimedia platforms to communicate clearly and effectively to inform and engage audiences
- Demonstrate the ability to conduct foundational research applicable to mass communication
- Apply tools and technologies required for mass communication workplaces
- Demonstrate media leadership skills, including entrepreneurial, managerial, and writing competencies that show they are capable of leading a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace
