Introduction

UCI Division of Continuing Education (DCE) has been dedicated to empowering and elevating individuals and organizations through impactful learning. Through a diverse catalogue of educational opportunities includingcertificate and specialized studies programs workshops, and strategic partnerships, we light the way for those seeking career advancement or personal enrichment.

As Dean of UCI’s Division of Continuing Education, Kristine (Krissy) Collins brings over twenty years of experience leading the development and delivery of high-quality education programs for post-traditional learners. Krissy is highly engaged in the global professional continuing and online community, is a member of UPCEA (The Online and Professional Education Association), has served in various executive roles at CAUCE (Canadian Association for University Continuing Education), serves on the executive of MIT-based Digital Credentials Consortium and is a member of the Coursera Council.

Krissy comes to UC Irvine after significant time at both the University of Toronto and the National Film Board of Canada, where she was Assistant Dean, Academic (School of Continuing Studies) and Director, EducationInstitutional Markets, respectively. A keen edtech supporter and digital literacy practitioner, Krissy has also worked at a VR start-up and is constantly exploring ways to innovate non-traditional learning. Krissy provides strategic leadership for continuing education related issues at UC Irvine and is responsible for empowering and leading the team at DCE to develop exceptional programs, initiate and nurture mutually beneficial partnerships and ensure all DCE learners are supported to be successful throughout their lifelong learning journey. Krissy is a graduate of Concordia University (Montreal) where she was an Academic All-Canadian student-athlete and completed her master’s degree in communication and culture as a non-traditional student at Toronto Metropolitan University and York University (Toronto).
