Introduction
The Cybersecurity Certificate consists of 4-courses providing a concentrated perspective into the complex field of Cybersecurity.
It is designed to provide students with skills to analyze and resolve security issues in networks and computer systems to secure an IT infrastructure, design, develop, test, and evaluate secure software. Evaluate and communicate the human role in security. As well as interpret and investigate security incidents.
Program Outcome
These Microdegree programs will give students the necessary skills to take on Cybersecurity positions in our evolving technological world. Microdegree graduates have the confidence to pursue careers in the private sector, in public administration, international organizations, and NGOs.
The Cyber Security Certificate targets CompTIA's Security+ and CySA+ certifications recognized globally.
Curriculum
Graduate Certificate students complete the four main concentration courses of the UBIS MSIT program. Only 4 courses total that can be completed in as short as 4 months or as long as 2 years.

MIT 642 Guide to Networks
Credits: 3 US / 6 ECTS
This course first introduces the fundamental building blocks that form a modern network, such as protocols, media, topologies, and hardware. It then provides in-depth coverage of the most important concepts in contemporary networking, such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, wireless transmission, virtual networks, security, and troubleshooting.
MIT 644 Network Security Fundamentals
Credits: 3 US / 6 ECTS
This course takes a comprehensive view of security by examining in-depth today’s attacks against networks and endpoints and what is needed to defend against these attacks. It provides the most current coverage available while thoroughly preparing readers for the CompTIA Security+ certification exam.
MIT 646 Cybersecurity Analyst I
Credits: 3 US / 6 ECTS
This course provides students with the fundamental understanding and skills needed to assess cybersecurity threats and to apply the appropriate tools to remediate security vulnerabilities. The course is designed to develop practical and analytical skills needed to perform threat assessments and vulnerability analysis. The course focuses on the techniques and tools for gathering information and for uncovering exposures.
MIT 648 Cybersecurity Analyst II
Credits: 3 US / 6 ECTS
This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to perform threat remediation, security incident response, and security improvement. The course focuses on methods for responding to attacks and for enforcing and improving security structures.
