Dual Master of Business Administration–Master of Health Administration

The MBA-MHA combines the curriculums of The University of Scranton’s AACSB-accredited MBA and the CAHME-accredited MHA. This dual degree program combines a comprehensive understanding of business functions with the operations and systems specific to healthcare, resulting in the expertise to successfully manage the business side of the industry. Students learn to balance business realities, such as cost containment, with the need to provide quality care and positive patient outcomes.

The program can be completed in less time and with fewer credits than taking both programs separately: The total credit hour completion for this online dual degree program is 65 credits, a savings of 13 to 18 credits, and can be completed in about two and half years when taken full-time. Requirements include a fieldwork component, which may be completed at a location convenient to the student.

Coursework is aligned with the competency model designed by the Healthcare Leadership Alliance (HLA), offering outcomes in leadership, business knowledge and skills, communication and relationship management, and knowledge of the healthcare environment.
