Course Outline
The MSc Interaction Design program is an internationally accredited two years Master's program (120 ECTS), offered jointly by the Cyprus University of Technology’s Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts and Tallinn University’s School of Digital Technologies in English. Our program is designed to run fully online (full-time or part-time) with an emphasis on practice-based teaching through research, design, and implementation of different individual and collaborative projects.
The curriculum allows you to fine-tune your education by mixing interdisciplinary courses, projects, and research in design and technology. The curriculum runs on Google’s online learning suite and provides access to CUT and TLU online systems. The master follows a problem-based learning approach, focusing on semester-long assignments per module that are broken into smaller 2-week-long cycles. At the beginning of each 2-week cycle the assignment is released, and students work on it and submit their work at the end of the 2-week cycle having various forms (synchronous and asynchronous) of mentoring sessions in between. At the end of the semester, students have to present their project work and engage in a verbal examination session. Classic written examinations are not usual in this master's program.
What type of technology is needed for the studies?
A new laptop and a good internet connection will be sufficient. The course uses Google apps for education and Google Classroom for delivery.
The Study Programme
The MSc Interaction Design is a full-time or part-time online study program by Tallinn University (TLU) and the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). The course is flexible to your varying needs and other life commitments. Therefore you have the chance to choose between full-time and part-time study and you can switch between the two or postpone throughout the course.
The current year's info session is found below. Watch the video and get the answers you need! The program provides a pragmatic response to the lack of European distance education study programs on Interaction Design as well as to answer to the lack of more flexible learning arrangements for full-time professionals. The MSc Interaction Design program offers a multidisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes technology for the benefit of the people.
In 2020 we also held an information session where our Head of the Programme Sónia Sousa introduced the Interaction Design program along with the Head of the Human-Computer Interaction Program.
