MS in Learning Design and Technology

In this 32-unit MS program, you will experience well-rounded and comprehensive courses that prepare future instructional designers and technologists in program design, evaluation, theory, the latest instructional technology, and other relevant and valuable perspectives.

Learning culminates in a capstone integration experience that includes class instruction with essential hands-on practice. Under the direction of skilled faculty-practitioners, the project incorporates either a scholarly paper, product design, or training program.

Graduates of the MS in Learning Design and Technology program will be expected to achieve the following objectives:

• Develop and practice clear, persuasive, and data-supported narratives that advance initiatives and present them using advanced transmedia.
• Develop and deliver learning experiences by integrating and applying learning theory and tools of technology and assessing the outcomes of those efforts
• Integrate personal, organizational, and societal values into leadership initiatives and advance them throughout organizations
• Analyze theories and characteristics of formal and informal learning environments and integrate the use of technology
• Understand unique characteristics and formal and informal learning environments and demonstrate the ability to apply technology to each setting based on relevant learning theories

This MS degree program provides the knowledge, skills, and support needed to reach your potential in various settings such as PreK-12 schools, colleges and universities, online program management entities, staff training, corporations, and many types of organizations in the non-profit, private, and public sectors.
