Introduction
Data is the oil of the digital age: If you are passionate about IT systems and software engineering, the IU distance learning program is right for you. Here you will learn to harness big data using the latest technologies. You will acquire all the knowledge areas necessary for targeted data visualization and analysis. By acquiring data-centred methodological competencies, you will be able to develop efficient solution strategies for your company and its customers. After your Bachelor's degree, this knowledge will make you a sought-after expert.
The most important economic and social development of our time is digitalisation. Digital technologies not only permeate all areas of interpersonal communication but also determine our economic activities. In doing so, they not only reproduce existing forms but also enable new business models that were not possible before. A characteristic feature of this is the consistent use of data. No matter when, no matter where. Data Science is, therefore, the core science of all digitisation processes.
The online study programme Data Science covers, among other things, the areas of Data Preparation, Visualisation and Analysis. You learn to approach Data Science problems methodically, purposefully and logically. The focus is primarily on practical problem-solving skills.
