Hanken School of Economics

Introduction

Nordic Brilliance

For over 100 years, the Hanken School of Economics has shaped the future of many successful leaders. It is one of the oldest leading business schools in the Nordic countries and prepares its students to take on challenges of the future.

At Hanken, you as a student are met as an individual. All students receive personal guidance and professors are easily approachable. Every year some 350 students enrol and in total, we have some 2300 students on our campuses in Helsinki and Vaasa. The size of the School makes the close interaction between students and personnel on all levels possible. The atmosphere at the School is international, reflected by our numerous international partners and the exchange programme the School runs in addition to the high share of international students enrolled.

At Hanken, you build networks that last a lifetime. Our alumni are proof of the tightly knit web of contacts that are at your disposal after graduating. The alumni are also a great resource already during your studies as they mentor students and open up doors to future career opportunities. Graduates from Hanken have excellent career prospects, and today Hanken alumni work in leading positions in more than 60 countries worldwide.

The School has been awarded all three international business school accreditations, the EQUIS accreditation in 2000, the AMBA accreditation in 2008 and the AACSB accreditation in 2015. Hanken was also ranked by Financial Times in 2015. These are proof of high quality in teaching, research, internationalisation and corporate interaction at Hanken. The School was also the first university in Finland to sign the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) and remains committed to sustainability in all activities.
