Introduction
George Mason University’s online Master’s Degree in Special Education equips students to identify, address, and overcome complex learning challenges to influence the educational potential of people with mild to severe learning disabilities. The program can be completed in 24 months through a flexible, part-time program led by an expert faculty of behavior analysts, teachers, researchers, and innovators. Currently, two tracks are available that culminate in a graduate certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders or Applied Behavior Analysis. Standalone certificates are also offered in these areas.
If you're interested in earning your MEd in Special Education with a track in Applied Behavior Analysis, now is the time. The online Applied Behavior Analysis program will be replaced by our new MS in Behavior Analysis program at the end of 2026. Our faculty and staff will provide guidance for completing the courses before this program is removed from George Mason's online offerings. The Autism Spectrum Disorders track will not be affected by this change.
