Introduction
Business management as studied in the 21st century, that is, within a global society dominated by technologies that provide new services and products supported by the New Technologies, demands a different business vision.
In this context, Software Engineering occupies a role in the value chain of companies, either as a "core" process or as a "support" process, but never disconnected, thus being an intrinsic part of business strategies. This is the reason why Software Engineering should be directed with a strategic vision that recognizes it as a change agent for the organizations themselves and their strategies.
In this sense, Software Engineering demands a different type of leadership, which surpasses the current formal studies of Software Engineering. For this reason, a Software Engineering professional is required with the strategic vision that makes it easier for him to place the software development process with a strategic perspective of his own that he needs as a strategic process, and that he must do so with administration tools that allow him to know and understand that Software Engineering is a management process composed of people and machines.
The Master's program in Strategic Management in Software Engineering (MDEISw), addresses the challenge of training these professionals addressing their essential skills of strategic management and the various infrastructure, modeling and technological management elements of Software Engineering, within a Comprehensive and innovative vision of information technology in organizations, aligned and consistent with the development of a software company, whether it be for production or use of software.
