SSM/ESAMI Doctoral Program

ESAMI and Swiss School of Management (SSM) are jointly bringing a 3-year internationally accredited Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program to Eastern and Southern Africa. The program is based on blended learning and students can join the program anytime. Coursework will be done using SSM’s e-learning platform with ESAMI and SSM campuses available as study centers. Four-day online workshops and frequent webinars on selected topics will be offered during the program. Candidates enrolled in 2020 will receive a partial scholarship.

About the DBA program

The DBA will be awarded by SSM, which is aligned with international standards for doctoral studies to support worldwide recognition. The DBA program is designed as a 3-year program with 120 ECTS credits based on part-time studies. E-learning units ensure a healthy work/life/study balance as travel time and expenses are kept at a minimum. 4-day workshops will be conducted twice during the first semester. Tuition after the partial scholarship is set at US$17,000 and can be paid in five installments: 34% payable on enrolment and balance of 66% payable from year 2 in 4 equal installments per semester.

About ESAMI

The Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) is an intergovernmental regional management development center. ESAMI’s head office is located in Arusha, Tanzania.

The institute was established with the primary objective of providing the region with trained personnel in a number of critical areas including policy management, Leadership, transportation management, financial management, information technology management, health management, human resource management, project management, energy, and environment management and gender management among others. The focus was to train middle to senior managers from the region to improve their managerial performance taking into consideration the global issues but with a regional focus relevant to the African environment.
