MA in Special Education - Initial Certification Campbellsville University Online

Introduction
The online MA in Special Education - Initial Certification program from Campbellsville University will provide you with the skills you need to make a positive impact in the lives of students who have specific learning disabilities and emotional and behavioral disorders. Guided by educators with real-world special education experience, the program explores strategies for safe behavior interventions, classroom management, educational technology, and effective teaching methods for students with learning disorders. Upon completion of the program, you’ll earn the academic credential required to become a certified special education teacher.
Our online special education certification program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). As an online student, you’ll complete 48 total credit hours, including a practicum and a student teaching opportunity to provide you with hands-on experience inside a special education classroom. The program is available in both Option 6 and traditional formats. Those enrolled in the traditional program will be required to complete an additional 12 hours of student teaching and submit a video lesson to your professor and supervising teacher for feedback.
You can complete the program in as little as 18 months in Campbellsville’s online classroom. Designed to fit the busy schedules of working teachers, the interactive learning environment allows you to prioritize your education while maintaining your full-time responsibilities at home and in the classroom.
