Why this degree?
The Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering degree will equip students with the knowledge and experience needed in diverse industries, from power distribution to biomedical research. Our program is available to online students and supports graduate study in control systems and robotics, digital signal processing, and communications, wireless engineering, electromagnetics modeling and analysis, microelectronics and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), power systems, digital systems, and computer engineering. Who is eligible?
- Those who hold a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent from an institution of recognized standing (transcripts required) are eligible.
- Applicants with degrees in other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines are also encouraged to apply and may be required to complete undergraduate electrical and computer engineering courses before official admission into the graduate program.
- The GRE is required, or TOEFL scores for international applicants.
- Letters of recommendation are also required.

Curriculum
- Online students may choose either the thesis or non-thesis option.
- For the M.S. non-thesis option, students must:
- Complete a minimum of 30 credit hours of graduate (6000/7000/8000)-level coursework
- For the M.S. thesis option, students must:
- Complete a minimum of 30 credit hours of graduate (6000/7000/8000)-level coursework and research work including:
- 4-6 credit hours of ELEC 7990 (Research and Thesis), guided by their research advisor and committee
- 24-26 credit hours of coursework
