Introduction

With the newly designed distance learning course for a bachelor's degree in applied psychology (BSc), you can expect a particularly practical and interdisciplinary psychological training. You will not only receive content and methodological skills in the field of psychology, but also in-depth know-how in the areas of health and economics.
This bachelor's degree is aimed at anyone who (want to) occupy the diverse professional fields outside of clinical psychotherapy (see fields of application), in which sound psychological know-how and knowledge of business administration and health sciences are an advantage.

key qualifications

The Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology (BSc) provides you with a well thought-out mix of knowledge from the fields of applied psychology, health and economics. Depending on which of the professional specializations you choose, you qualify for a wide variety of future-oriented professional fields and thus improve your professional entry and promotion opportunities in the long term.
The degree program is deliberately broad and therefore does not focus on the field of clinical psychology in order to give you as many professional and career opportunities as possible. In addition to a bachelor’s and master’s degree with a focus on clinical psychology, self-employed psychotherapeutic work would also require many years of psychotherapeutic training, as stipulated by the Psychotherapist Act. Self-employment as a coach or trainer in a variety of psychological areas (e.g. crisis and stress management, bullying advice) is of course open to you with the Applied Psychology degree.

Course contents

Compared to other, often theory-heavy psychology courses, the APOLLON bachelor's course in applied psychology (B. Sc.) is characterized by application-oriented and future-oriented electives:

  • Company health management – work and health
  • Marketing and Consumer Psychology – Marketing and Health
  • Educational Psychology – Education and Health
  • Gerontological Psychology - Age and Health
  • Sport Psychology – Sport and Health

The course consciously interlocks the three major subject areas of psychology, health and economics, the interaction of which is becoming increasingly important for business and society. In addition to the interdisciplinary specialist content, you will be taught valuable social and methodical skills, with a focus on communication, counselling, conflict management and diagnostics, among other things.

admission requirements

The requirements for admission to the Bachelor's degree are regulated by the Bremen Higher Education Act (BremHG). After that, under certain conditions, you can also study without the Abitur or technical college entrance qualification.
