Studying any European language, such as Italian, helps to gain entry into the new European economy. It is also the study of the culture and history of Italy, a country that has had a great effect on world history, art and the appreciation of food throughout the ages.

Officially known as the Italian Republic, the country is found in southern Europe. The official language is Italian and the cultural rich capital is Rome. Many of the world's oldest universities are located in Italy, in particular the University of Bologna (founded in 1088). There are three Superior Graduate Schools with "university status", three institutes with the status of Doctoral Colleges, which function at graduate and post-graduate level.

Courses are individual classes that can be taken at universities, colleges, junior colleges, and trade schools worldwide. For even greater flexibility, many schools also offer online classes. Students can take individual classes or pursue degree programs.

Part time learning allows one to obtain part-time degrees even if one cannot attend school on a full-time basis. One can learn at his or own pace, gradually accumulating credits which count towards final qualification.
