Every stage leads to a certificate. All of the certificates combined are a Professional Chefs level 1 diploma. This diploma is recognized by the Hospitality industry for the European Culinary Arts.

Stage one contains a full and professional e-learning program. This digital learning program walks you through the theoretical part of the Professional European Chef program. For this e-learning program, we are working with the digital learning award-winning company ‘Knowledge Monk’. ‘Knowledge Monk’ is well known for its interactive digital learning programs. Learning through interactive play. They make use of a variety of learning methods and use mostly videos and interactive games to guide you through the program. You can use your tablet, computer, or your smartphone for this digital learning program.

Stage 2: Cooking Assignments
When you are done with the theoretical part of your studies, it is time to practice. In cooking, you learn by doing. Time for the assignments. These 12 assignments are explained through clear instructions and all include a video that shows you how to work. The assignments all involve a cooking skill that you will have to show through a video. We will not grade your video skills but will only look at your cooking skills, techniques, and process.
Stage 3: Professional Feedback
Next to grades, you will need professional feedback to learn. You will be assigned to a personal mentor. This mentor is a qualified teacher of our Horeca Academy. This mentor grades your 12 assignments and gives you professional feedback.

We think you deserve a little treat when you have finished stages 1, 2 & 3. We offer you free webinars about cooking. Webinars contain masterclasses, but also seminars about wine pairing and professional hygiene. You can attend as many webinars as you want. You will receive a link to our webinars when you have successfully finished the first three stages.
Stage 5: Traineeship (in your own country)
Stage 5: Chefs Traineeship
The traineeship is an important part of your course to become a professional chef. You will have to find a restaurant where you can work as a student chef. You can choose whichever European kitchen you want. Make sure you have the right guidance and that you are able to learn a lot. We will contact you two times (more if necessary) in the months that you are working as a trainee to help you reflect on your progress. You will reflect on your own progress in a reflection report.

To receive the official diploma Professional European Chef level 1, you will need to successfully complete all six stages.
You can start with stage one and work your way through the program. It is also possible to just follow the practical classes at our academy. You will receive a certificate of attendance.

FAQ P.E.C. Professional European Chef
What are the Program Entry Requirements?
You learn all the basic techniques and chefs’ skills. You do not need any prior education in culinary arts. This education is in English. You will need to understand, speak, and read and write in English.
When can I start?
You can start at any moment with stages 1,2,3,4 and 5. Stage one is a digital program. You can start right away in the comfort of your own home. Stage six is practical training. This course starts three times a year. Contact us for the exact dates of the practical courses.
How does the admission work?
Stage 1: Buy the digital eLearning program directly through this website and start right away. You will receive a certificate which you can upload.
Stage 2 and 3: Buy the module and we will contact you within 2 workdays. You receive the assignments via email and your mentor will contact you via email for your professional feedback.
Stage 4: After purchase, you will receive a link where you can log on to the webinars.
Stage 5: We advise you to find a traineeship location first and then apply through this website. Your mentor will contact you.
Stage 6: Apply and select the starting date and location of your practical training. After your application, we will contact you if we have a place for you in the practical training. If not, we will find an alternative date together.
What do I need to start?
For all of the stages, you will need a working computer with internet and an email address. For the assignments (stage 2 and 3) you need a camera phone or video recorder to record your work in progress. You also need a YouTube account to upload your videos.
For stage 5 you must have a traineeship in the kitchen at a restaurant. At the restaurant should be a chef that is able to teach and guide you through your practical learning skills. The tasks for you as a trainee must be all cooking-related. Of course, cleaning and doing dishes is involved in the cooking process, but make sure you will not be hired to do just that (washing dishes).
For stage six it is required that you wear our Horeca Academy attire in class (Chefs jacket with logo, chefs pants, and chefs apron). The costs of the chef's attire are €65,95.
Terms and Conditions
Your registration is strictly personal and your signature means an agreement with the general terms and conditions. Registrations by e-mail and via the internet also mean an agreement with the general terms and conditions. Each participant is jointly and severally liable for all costs, including when it comes to company registration. After registration, the reflection period of 14 days applies to you, within this period you can cancel the registration free of charge. This can be done by email or by post.

Each participant will receive a confirmation of registration after registration.
Cancellation and merger by an Horeca Academy
The Horeca Academy reserves the right if the number of registrations gives cause to do so, to merge training courses, to postpone them, or to cancel them. Horeca Academy is entitled, if there is reason to do so, to refuse a participant without stating a reason.
The participant undertakes, jointly and severally, when registering to pay the entire training fee, regardless of whether or not, in whole or in part, the training days are followed. All costs incurred by Horeca Academy for collecting overdue payments are for the account of the participant.
The absence of a participant during the training does not release the participant from the obligation to pay. The absence of the participant never gives the right to a full or partial refund of the training fee. Trainers/teachers are authorized to deny participants who are more than 50% absent access to the training. Denial of access never gives the right to a full or partial refund of the training fee.
The participant receives the training material on the first training day. In the course of training, additions can be issued. All material provided in the training is and remains the property of Horeca Academy. The participant is not allowed to make the material public in any way. See the 1912 Copyright Act for this.
Operation of the general terms and conditions
The general terms and conditions come into effect when the participant registers for training. The general terms and conditions end after full payment of the training fee and termination of the training program.
Early termination/cancellation by the participant
Cancellation must be made in writing. In case of cancellation up to three weeks before the start date of the training/education, administration costs are due. In case of cancellation within three weeks before the start of the training/education, the full amount is due.
If a participant cannot participate in a training day, it is (if schedules allow) to move the training day to another date and location. The costs for this are at the expense of the participant.
The participant is at all times responsible for his own behavior. When carrying out assignments, he must observe all precautions that apply within normal business operations. Horeca Academy and do not bear any responsibility for injury or any injury sustained during training.
Denial of the Course
If a participant does not comply with the safety instructions of the trainer (s), the participant can be denied access to the training.
If the general terms and conditions do not provide for situations, the participant, as well as the Horeca Academy, will act in all fairness.
If an exam is linked to training, the participant declares to have knowledge of the exam components and the conditions of the exam office. If a portfolio is part of an exam, the participant is responsible for the correct and complete submission of this portfolio. The examination office is the final assessor and no rights can be derived from statements made by the trainer (s). As long as the training costs and/or exam costs have not been paid, the participant will not receive the result of the exam.
The complaints procedure is described in the Education and Examination Regulations. The so-called EER. You will receive this EER when you start the CREBO training. Complaints regarding other training and courses must be submitted in writing to the attention of the management. Which will handle the complaint. If in your opinion, the complaint has not been handled as desired, you can apply to the court in The Hague.
