Program Description

This 30-credit-hour online degree program equips students with the skills to apply the Agile methodology to manage projects and lead teams more effectively in today’s fast-moving and global business landscape. This focus on iterative and incremental project management techniques sets AU’s program apart from other degree programs, empowering team collaboration and making organizations more operationally effective and efficient in the face of risk and change. The program links industry knowledge, technology, and leadership skills to equip learners to successfully meet the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving, complex, and economically significant field.

American University designed the program with support and approval from an advisory council comprised of leading IT and project management professionals actively employed in a variety of organizations and fields, and the council will continue to provide advice to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and applicable to marketplace needs and trends.

The MS in Agile Project Management is geared toward mid-career professionals seeking new or advanced positions in this growing area of business. Graduates of the program will be qualified to pursue careers such as Project Manager, Senior Developer, and Business Analyst, where their responsibilities require expertise in emerging project management and collaborative leadership skills.
