The Master of Property at the University of Newcastle has been designed to develop highly relevant skills and knowledge to assist you to obtain success in the property industry. To achieve this, the program is entirely prescribed, with eight core courses covering sustainable development, property economics and finance, property and facilities management, through to property law, planning legislation, investment and evaluation, advanced and statutory valuation, and property market analysis. Depending on the entry level, some students may have to study additional two to four directed courses selected from a number of available courses online.

The program will see you emerge with a well-rounded understanding of the market, an ability to identify and analyse trends and understand and apply the legislative framework which governs the industry.

At the end of your studies, you will have a thorough understanding of the property market and will be able to apply this knowledge in a wide range of property-based careers.

Admission Requirements

  • AQF Level 8 Cognate for the purposes of entry into this program will be determined by a Bachelor Honours Degree, a Graduate Certificate, or a Graduate Diploma in the areas of study, listed below.
  • AQF Level 7 Cognate (with or without completed Graduate Certificate in Property) (with or without five years’ experience) for the purposes of entry into this program will be determined by a Bachelor Degree in the areas of study, listed below.
  • AQF Level 6 Cognate (with completed Graduate Certificate in Property and five years’ experience) for the purposes of entry into this program will be determined by an Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in the areas of study, listed below.

Relevant work Experience will be assessed from the information provided below:

  • Applicant statement outlining the relevant work experience that applies to the program learning outcomes. Applicants must demonstrate experience against all learning outcomes.
  • Evidence of employment and experience including start and end dates from employer(s): Offer of employment letter; Certificate of experience/employment
  • Certified transcripts from previous education qualifications in English or with an authorized English translation
  • Detailed resume/CV setting out educational qualifications and work experience
  • Interview (where necessary)
