The Master of Arts in Leadership program gives leaders ethical and practical leadership skills for businesses and non-profit organizations to thrive in the 21st century.
Great leadership is absolutely necessary for businesses and non-profit organizations to thrive in the early 21st Century; unfortunately, it is also one of the most elusive and challenging attributes for most organizations to foster in their employees and volunteers. Based in a philosophy of servant leadership that seeks to transform organizations, the University of Jamestown’s leadership program is designed to give emerging leaders the theoretical background and practical skills needed to help businesses and non-profits navigate a world that gets more complicated on a daily basis. We nurture leaders who understand how to work in an increasingly diverse and global society, know how crucial ethical leadership is to any organization, and have outstanding communication skills. Our students learn to be problem-solvers who get the importance of the “human side” of organizations and the need to balance that side with the quantitative side of an organization.
University of Jamestown's Leadership Program is structured to reflect the values that guide the curriculum, and as such, students will learn in a “cohort model” in which they take classes with the same group of students each semester so they can learn in community, make lifelong professional and personal connections, and help one another develop as leaders.
