Program Description

Access Requirements

Applicants to the cycle of studies leading to the Degree of Master can apply for all holders of the degree of licenciado or legal equivalent; Holders of a school, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized as attesting to the capacity of the Atlantic Business School to carry out this cycle of studies; Holders of a foreign higher academic degree awarded following a first cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to it; Holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the degree of licenciado by the Scientific Technical Council of the Atlantic Business School


The cycle of studies leading to the Master's Degree in Management and Business provides the stakeholders in the area of ​​management with a 360º view of the Company, both at the level of analysis and at the level of practices and strategies, allowing the development of competencies to make decisions that respond to the The main challenges facing companies today are the disciplines of the different areas of Management and Business, from Finance to Information Systems, through Marketing and Human Resources, including the new Business Models on the Internet. Is understood in a multidisciplinary way, all these disciplines were structured with the same objective, forming a coherent and integrated whole, centered on a common project to be developed in a company, chosen at the beginning of the school year. The Final Diploma is the Master's Degree in Management And Business, the same as in the face-to-face program, recognized by the Of Science, Technology and Higher Education (Notice nº 19753/2010), since the course, the disciplines, the teachers and the evaluations are the same. Only the way of teaching is different The Bologna Declaration makes this Diploma recognized in all European Union countries The Program is advisable for candidates from Portuguese speaking countries (Angola, Mozambique, Brazil, ...) who wish to obtain the Master's Degree, Through a course in Portuguese recognized throughout the European area, in order to progress in their professional career. The Program is also attractive for Portuguese cadres who have emigrated to other countries and intend to evolve in their qualifications, in their mother tongue.

The Methodologies adopted are typical of a Business School built in accordance with the philosophy emanating from current practices in the best Schools in the European Union and the United States. The governing bodies of the Atlântico Business School (formerly the IESF) maintain a remarkable proactivity in relation to the concern with the formats and methodologies of the Teaching practiced in the Atlantic Business School, evidencing its character of Business School, always turned to the applicability, in business environment , Of the competences acquired by the Students during the academic course.

The Case Study is a method that is based on the study of real situations in the business world, serving to demonstrate the applicability of the acquired knowledge to reality. Many of the disciplines resort to this method. The Atlantic Business School was a pioneer in this area, being the first to use in Portugal the methodology ABP - Problem Based Learning of the prestigious Harvard School.

Most of the disciplines include, in a more or less intense way, the realization of projects of different natures, that complement the academic content of some curricular units. At the end of all courses, there is a structuring discipline, with a duration of at least one Semester, aiming at the application of projects in an environment of business immersion, in a joint work among the students organized in groups, the teachers and managers of the companies where the Projects are carried out.

Most curricular units require the preparation of individual or group work.

Some of the disciplines use simulation games that allow direct contact with companies in an attempt to simulate concrete problems of everyday business and financial markets.

In some of the curricular units, the students go to companies to realize, in loco, its operation and its specificities. The realization of projects within the structuring disciplines of end of course culminates the process of gradual and progressive integration in the business environment.

Some of the disciplines involve the visit of cadres and businessmen to the Atlantic Business School, transmitting their knowledge and skills to the students of the different courses.

Throughout the different courses, students benefit from work sessions on specific topics, taught by national and foreign specialists.


The Atlântico Business School privileges the study of real cases, the realization of projects of different natures, the elaboration of individual or group work, games of simulation, among others.


The Faculty of Antlântico Business School are personalities known and recognized in their activity and the results of their activity are relevant. Teachers have obvious academic qualities and, above all, apply their knowledge to their daily professional activity. Among these Teachers connected intrinsically with the Atlantic Business School and communicating their ideals and methodologies, are former Ministers and former Secretaries of State of the Government of Portugal, as well as Presidents of Reference companies. In addition to the Teachers, the Students contact directly with Nationally Distinguished Personalities, who, in exclusive Seminars, discuss current and relevant topics in Portugal and in the European context.
