General

Program Description

The postgraduate program Educational Sciences Has as its main mission:

  • Research on pedagogical studies with particular emphasis on the fields of organization, administration, evaluation and curricula in education as well as in continuing education
  • The provision of specialized pedagogical knowledge to teachers of all levels
  • Collaboration with similar programs, European and other universities and research centers
  • The preparation of high-level executives and researchers who perceive the context in which education operates and want to act creatively and productively
  • The provision of services to the wider educational community in pedagogical matters.

Structure of the Program

To obtain a Masters Degree Master degree, students choose one of the following schemes:

  • Figure A: Successful monitoring and examination of three thematic units and Master Thesis is required.
  • Figure B: Successful monitoring and examination of four thematic units is required.

Students, under the supervision and guidance of teachers, are required at each school. To prepare three (3) written assignments and, if they have obtained the necessary marks, entitle them to participate in the final examinations. An application for a Master's thesis may be submitted after the completion of the second (2nd) Thematic Module. The dissertation can be submitted immediately after the third (3rd) And not later than one academic year after it is completed. Students can follow one of the four academic guidelines to ensure the scientific consistency of the Program.

The individual web pages describe the Thematic Modules on which each academic direction is organized. The student can choose up to two (2) Thematic Modules per academic year. In order for the students to know the workload, it should be noted that the selection and monitoring of two thematic units per academic year is equivalent to full-time attendance. Is considered part-time. The attendance starts at the beginning of October and ends in June, which is the final, written exam.

Direction 1: Educational Leadership and Policy

Direction 2: Education for Social Justice

Direction: Theory of Education / Curricula

From the Academic Year 2015-2016 this direction will not be redefined, but existing students can complete their postgraduate studies after following the specific structure

Admission Requirements

To enter the postgraduate program, it is necessary to have a degree from a recognized university institution.

Candidates should additionally possess the following:

  1. Graduation grade "very good" as described below:
    • Universities of Greece and Cyprus: over 6.5
    • University of America: Over 3.0
    • Universities in England over 2.1
  2. "Very good" knowledge of the English language
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
