The Online Master of Science Solar Energy Engineering offered by the University of Freiburg in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE is an international distance learning program which focuses on photovoltaics research, development, production, and marketing. It provides participants with the skills they need to develop, design and optimize photovoltaic systems. Divided into 3 preparation modules, 5 mandatory modules, and 3 elective modules, the program explains the technological and physical foundations of photovoltaics and provides a comprehensive overview of the interrelated economic and ecological aspects of renewable energy. Course modules include semiconductor devices and semiconductor technology, material and solar cell selection, thin-film solar cells, photovoltaic electronics, fatigue analysis of photovoltaic systems, and the production and economics of renewable energy. ...
