This postgraduate course in Design Management has been developed to enable you to professionally and knowledgeably manage the design process from inception through to completion and beyond.
Please note there will be no intake to this course in 2014/15. We recommend you consider the MSc Visualisation in Architecture and Built Environment as an alternative.
In the Engineering, Architecture and Construction sector, the number of stakeholders, design and construction teams, and sub-contractors is diverse. Managing projects within these sectors demands accurate communication, continuous collaboration and seamless data exchange between these segmented parties. It is suitable for architects, construction and property professionals and other related disciplines.
Developed in close collaboration with industry, our MSc Design Management is continually kept up to date with world-wide developments and professionally focused content in areas such as:
- Innovations in design process management
- 3D Modelling
- Project Data Modelling
- Building Information Modelling (BIM)
By developing the managerial, technical and interpersonal skills necessary for the management of complex design processes this course enables you to meet the challenge of pursuing your personal and career objectives. Ensuring that on completion of this course you will understand and be able to strategically manage the people, processes and infrastructure associated with the design management process.
Applicants should have a good Undergraduate Honours degree. Consideration will also be given to students with extensive professional experience.
All international students for whom English is not their first language must provide evidence of linguistic ability, by gaining either IELTS 6.5 or equivalent in TOEFL, prior to receiving an unconditional offer of a place on the course.
