This module focuses on the technologies used, and the evaluation standards established to produce robust strategies. You will use case studies to evaluate current strategies and forensic computer skills.
IT Security Management
Going beyond the design of effective strategies, learn to manage these strategic solutions through rigorous application of policies and methods crucial to modern cyber security. Study the required techniques to manage IT security systems for organisations of all sizes in this module, whilst learning to develop and implement recovery plans. You will evaluate current organisational practice, the policies that govern it, and recommendations for improvement.
IS Governance
Robust governance frameworks grow daily in importance and play a key role that includes legal, economic, political, and technological issues. This module will encourage you to evaluate and mitigate risk, and maximise the benefits of different software and systems. You will be challenged to audit current governance approaches, critique your peers, and present recommendations for future revisions.
Research Project
This vital project gives you a chance to research an area of your choice, related to the programme theme, and develop your critical abilities. You’ll create a research proposal and choose between a conventional dissertation, or an academic article and presentation. Then you’ll apply all of your knowledge from the programme with the opportunity to link your research to your actual work needs.

Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for this course you must normally have:
A UK honours degree at a minimum of second class (2.2) or equivalent.
For students whose prior learning was not taught in English: IELTS 6.5 or equivalent (no less than 6.0 in any element).
What if I don’t have academic qualifications?
We positively encourage and consider applications from those with substantial management experience (typically 5 years) able to demonstrate their motivation to study the programme. We will ask for your CV and references in support of your application.
