An MLS, also known as a Master of Science of Law or a Master of Legal Studies, is a law degree offered to students who do not intend to practice law as a profession. An MLS generally gives students a foundation to understand how the law works and to use legal knowledge in business or other professions. This course can usually be achieved in a relatively short time compared to a traditional law degree and may be offered online by universities and law schools.
