Introduction
Campbellsville University’s online MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program provides the skills you need to successfully impact the lives of non-English speaking students across the globe. The program utilizes a curriculum founded on Christian principles and values to address second language acquisition and help you prepare for diverse teaching roles. When you complete the program, you’ll graduate with the expertise to teach English as a second language (ESL) to college students in the United States and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) for K-12 students internationally.
Our online TESOL master’s program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Through a selection of courses that cover diverse education and ESL topics, you will be introduced to linguistics and explore linguistic phonetics, tools for reading and writing, modern English grammar, and more. The degree requires the completion of 36 total credit hours and can be completed in two years. You’ll receive the opportunity to opt for a thesis program requirement, which will add an additional 3 credit hours to the degree’s total.
Delivered through the university’s interactive online classroom, the program provides the flexibility you need to maintain your full-time personal responsibilities while completing your education. As you learn on your schedule, you’ll receive personalized attention from faculty members with years of diverse teaching experience. They’ll offer guidance as you learn the fundamentals of language and explore the intricate connections between culture and speech.
