Royal Roads University is a Registered Education Provider with the Project Management Institute. Project Management Professionals' can earn Professional Development Units toward maintenance of Project Management Professionals credential upon completion of this program.
Upon successful completion, graduates can apply for transfer credit in select Royal Roads University’s master's programs with a portion of the tuition waived.

Designed for professionals with a minimum of two years’ work experience, the Graduate Certificate in Project Management program provides you with the advanced project management skills you need to achieve outstanding results – in your organization and career. Here, industry professionals help you further develop a robust foundation in project management and apply that knowledge within an organization.
Applicants who do not have the formal academic education to qualify for admission may be assessed on the basis of both their formal education and their informal learning, in accordance with the Flexible Admission Policy.
The Graduate Certificate in Project Management at Royal Roads University includes a five-day on-campus component, followed by two online courses, and concludes with a final three-day on-campus Capstone. This unique structure provides working professionals with an opportunity to benefit from the synergy of an on-campus experience and learn through the online medium while still meeting professional and personal responsibilities.
Students can expect the residency periods to be quite rigorous. The daily schedule for residencies is usually from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Homework, readings and team assignments are completed outside of these hours so it is recommended that you keep your evenings available for these activities.
The online portion of our Graduate Certificate programs is delivered through the Moodle learning platform. There are deadlines for assignments; however, students work through the requirements of the course at their own pace. Several different information delivery methods are used, including textbooks, articles, case studies, interactive learning and "chat" bulletin boards for corresponding with your team members, who may be on the other side of the country. Students are assigned to a team during the first residency and continue to work together during the online courses.
Each 9-week online course is taken consecutively and requires a level of effort of approximately –15-20 hours per week. During the first online course, the amount of time required may be higher as learners familiarize themselves with our online learning platform.

You may choose to complete this program as a specialization option and apply the credits earned towards our MBA in Executive Management, Master of Global Management (MGM) programs.
If you have already completed this program, you can transfer all credits towards Royal Roads MBA, MGM, MA in Tourism Management, and MA in Interdisciplinary Studies programs. The tuition will be adjusted accordingly.

Admission to this program is assessed on a case-by-case basis, taking into account all aspects of the applicant's work and life experience, volunteer and community activities, practical experience, related training, and formal education.
Completion of either an undergraduate four-year (or comparable) degree or a graduate degree in a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Normally, at least two years of relevant full-time work experience.
To be considered for Flexible Admission, applicants would normally require at least five years of extensive, relevant work experience and some post-secondary education.
