General

Program Description

Design is an agent of change and social cohesion, it contributes to getting good ideas for the market, improving products and developing services: it strengthens them and makes them more effective. It also facilitates the development of more competitive and transparent public services, contributes to social innovation, and thus increases people's quality of life.

This Degree in Design allows training professionals capable of proposing holistic, more innovative and sustainable solutions to the challenges that arise.

Program objectives

The Online Degree in Design will allow the student:

  • Analyze and understand the social context that surrounds a project and assess design problems by providing alternative solutions that improve accessibility and integration.
  • Incorporate cultural, artistic, technological and instrumental approaches into projects under a framework of social responsibility.
  • Mastering the different languages and technical design processes .
  • Select and handle the most appropriate tools to work and solve design needs.
  • Have the capacity for communicative synthesis necessary for the coding, visualization and communication of projects through mastery of graphic display techniques, information design and infographics.
  • Consistently develop a design process.
  • Cross-apply knowledge managing an overall vision that concludes with the defense of a design concept and develops until the prototyping phase .
  • Knowledge of business fundamentals in the field of design to train a professional with a greater capacity for integration in professional structures linked to business innovation processes.
  • Know, experiment and apply creativity techniques linked to the generation of ideas and the development of innovation in design processes.
  • Ability to develop design projects following the normative standards related to the project typologies in the specialties of space design, product design and graphic design and visual communication .

Curriculum

Below is a proposed study plan structured in 4 subjects and a Bachelor's Final Project that add up to 144 ECTS of compulsory itinerary to follow, offering a range of optional subjects so that students can choose 36 ECTS that will allow them to delve into specific areas from space design, product design or graphic design or with a combination of subjects from the three areas mentioned.

Choice of optional subjects

The elective subjects that the student may choose in the last two courses, allow him to specialize in one of the aforementioned areas: graphic design and communication, space design and product design.

Titling

People who pass all the subjects proposed in the study plan will receive:

  • Certificate of Bàtxelor in Design issued by the Ministeri d'Educació i Ensenyament Superior d'Andorra *.
  • Translation into Spanish of the Bàtxelor certificate issued by the Carlemany University.
  • European Diploma Supplement, bilingual (Catalan and Spanish), issued by the Ministeri d'Educació i Ensenyament Superior d'Andorra that certifies the subjects completed and grades obtained, as well as the ECTS corresponding to each one of them and to the degree in its set.

Access

This is a university training program that requires being able to access university studies in the context of the countries of the European Union, as well as the equivalent level to said access, official and demonstrable, in other territories. Specifically, they will have access to the degree program:

People with national studies will be able to access bachelor studies through one of the following ways:

  • Andorran high school.
  • Advanced professional diploma.
  • Foreign baccalaureate that has obtained access to higher education from the Government of Andorra.
  • Studies started from a bachelor and have passed at least 30 ECTS (EHEA).
  • Bachelor degree.

People with international studies may access bachelor studies through one of the following ways:

  • Baccalaureate or similar qualification that meets the access requirements demanded by the educational system where you have completed post-compulsory studies and that allow you to start higher education studies.
  • With official university studies started and who have passed at least 30 ECTS (EHEA) or at least one semester (outside the EHEA).
  • Official university qualification.

This program is aimed at people with an interest in the field of design , with or without previous professional experience, and a motivation to contribute to the permanent improvement of our environment from the search for solutions to the needs of the environment.

The Degree in Design offers numerous professional opportunities both in specialized companies in the sector and in companies and organizations that have understood the importance and contribution to innovation and permanent improvement that design professionals can make. Specifically, the person who achieves this degree will be able to carry out the following activities depending on their specialty

  • Architecture and space design studios

  • Image, communication, marketing and advertising companies and departments.

  • Media specialized in art or design.

Specifically, they will also find an outlet in the following areas:

  • Graphic design and visual communication: graphic designer, corporate identity design, editorial design, typographic design, graphic interface design, brand image development for companies and public entities, books and periodicals, layout, multimedia creative.
  • Design of spaces: interior designer, design of ephemeral spaces, design of commercial spaces, adaptation of workspaces and offices, 3D designer for digital environments, design of exhibitions, adaptation of homes and domestic spaces.
  • Product Design: designer of products and services, design of domestic and urban furniture and workspaces, design of personal objects, gifts and accessories for the home and office objects, design of services and systems by companies and public entities .
