Engineering Studies

Courses are individual units of study that can be taken singly or as a series of classes concentrated in a specific area of study. Individual classes can vary in length, cost, and number of sessions per week.

Broadly speaking, the field of engineering involves taking empirical evidence, mathematics and knowledge of global systems and using them to create and maintain everything from structures to individual components to whole processes. However, many specializations also exist.

Higher level scholars in Finland easily access higher education courses at practically oriented polytechnics or universities. The Finnish culture is easy to learn since the government has set a ministry which is responsible for enhancing cultural, youth policies, sports and international cooperation.

Poor employee health or work disability leads to productivity loss and imposes large individual, social, and economical burdens. It is also a major concern to workers, their families, employers, policymakers, insurers, and occupational health service providers. This online course is a short introduction to the topic and will give a good basis to attend part 2 and 3. The objectives of this online course are to disseminate transdisciplinary WDP knowledge with a focus on theoretical, methodological, ethical and practical challenges. The target audience is Ph.D. students, post-doctoral fellows, and practitioners with a master’s degree who are linked to the WDP field. The online course material is based on a traditional NIVA course held in Helsinki in June 2016. The lecturers are responsible for the content of their own lectures. NIVA is responsible for the composition of the online course. If you are interested in the subject area at large, or if you are planning to attend the NIVA course WDP 2 in June 2017 we recommend buying the online course and watching the material.... [-]
