Manhattan College IELP Online courses are available throughout the year. It runs using the same schedule/calendar as the on-campus IELP. IELP Online courses meet the same high standards as IELP on-campus courses. Students will be expected to attend all Online classes as they would on-campus IELP classes. IELP Online classes are synchronous, which means that teachers will lead the classes “live.”
Note that IELP Online classes start at 7:00 AM (EST), in order to best serve various time zones.
IELP 005 Online
IELP 005 Online is an Upper-Intermediate course in which students improve their English writing, reading, speaking, and listening skills. Successful completion of IELP 005 Online satisfies the requirement for entry into IELP 006 (either Online or On-Campus).
IELP 006 Online
IELP 006 Online is an Advanced IELP course. Successful completion of IELP 006 Online meets the English language proficiency requirements for admission into Manhattan College degree programs. No IELTS or TOEFL score required.
Applicants who would like an Online course should choose “I prefer an Online Program” during the application process.
$4450.00 per course (including all fees). Tuition balance must be submitted prior to the first day of IELP Online classes.
An online orientation session will be available prior to the start of IELP Online classes.
No study visa (F-1) is required to take IELP Online courses.
Applicants will be placed in one of the IELP Online courses based upon their English language proficiency.
Applicants are placed by one of the following ways:
- IELP Placement Exam: This exam can be taken from the applicant’s home. All that is required is a computer with a camera and internet access and 85 minutes. The IELP Placement exam is provided at no extra cost to IELP applicants. TOEFL / IELTS scores are not required for entry into the IELP;
- TOEFL / IELTS score. Applicants will be placed in IELP levels based on their scores. Please note that TOEFL / IELTS scores must be valid. Typically, this means that the exam results must have been given within two years of the IELP application.
