Course - Certified Expert in Microfinance

In March 2014, the Frankfurt School‘s most successful e-learning course “Certified Expert in Microfinance”will start once again. The online course, which is based on Frankfurt School’s broad experience in practical project work and theoretical business school education programs, is tailored to the needs of microfinance practitioners and loan officers, as well as all who are active or interested in Microfinance.

Frankfurt School delivers applicable content that will help to achieve personal career objectives and make an impact on the bottom line of participants’ institutions. The6-month part-time certification course matches individual schedules. It is up to the participant when and where to study. This allows balancing a busy workload and family obligations with an intellectually stimulating programme.


The next Certified Expert in Microfinance (CEMF) will start on March 3, 2014. Registration is possible from December 2013.

Target Group

The target audiences for this e-learning course are MFI management and employees, bankers, central bankers, staff members of apex institutions and students (preferably with banking and finance background) who wish to gain insights into successful MFI management. Proficiency in English both verbal and in writing are mandatory.

Course Content

In this course, participants will learn how to manage micro-credits, micro-savings, and micro-insurance successfully. They will get a thorough understanding of the risks involved in the business of their MFI, and learn how to implement marketing and sales properly. Finally, the participants will get to know the financial and social performance management, as well as the management of human resources.

Tuition Fees

The regular tuition fee is EUR 550. If you register by January 15, 2014, the early bird tuition fee of EUR 500 is applicable.

The fee for the final exam is EUR 50. The final exam fee has to be paid in cash directly to the institution hosting the final exam.
