What Does the Course Involve?
During the course of your studies you will gain industry relevant knowledge that will enhance your skills and prepare you for a career in photography on graduation. Through a combination of intensive practical work and developing an understanding of photography theory you will:
Explore a range of digital image making processes and techniques, including aspects of lighting, studio shooting, shooting on location, technical theory and image processing in the darkroom

The online BA (Hons) Photography course has been carefully adapted for online delivery. We believe that students studying online require more support, not less, and your tutor will provide you with support in developing a distinctive practice that is relevant to your interests and ambitions.
Studying Photography online with IDI
You will be required to complete a variety of regular online assessments which will focus on developing the knowledge and practical skills you will need as a professional photographer. Group discussions with your fellow photography students will take place on the IDI forums, and you are encouraged to take part in these. The forums are accessed from within the study website, IDI-Study, where you will also have access to course materials, converse with your tutor, and submit work for assessment.
With IDI you will never be alone in your studies and there are a number of people who you will keep in regular contact with, such as your tutor and your peer group. You will also be able to contact IDI support staff from 9 to 5, Monday to Friday if you have any questions about your studies. Our Technical Support team will be able to help you with any technical problems you encounter.

BA (Hons) Photography Entry Requirements
You will normally require between 240 and 260 points from GCE A Levels (or equivalent) including a qualification in an art related subject, plus GCSE English Language and Maths at grade C or above - key skills are accepted as equivalent.
You will normally have completed either a pre-degree course in visual arts, which may be a Foundation or equivalent course leading to a BTEC National Diploma/Certificate or equivalent international qualification.
All applicants from non-majority English speaking countries need to provide proof of English language proficiency. One of the following qualifications (or equivalent) is required:
-GSCE English Language grade A-C
-IELTS 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band)
