The Bachelor of Science in Applied Science and Technology (BSAST) degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology is designed for reactor operators and related workers in the nuclear industry or in the U.S. Navy nuclear power program. Credits may be earned from the Navy Basic Nuclear Power School, advanced Navy training, NRRPT certification, NRC licensure or professional training. - How Students Earn Credit in the Area of Study: Most students have earned credit from the Navy Basic Nuclear Power School, which covers more than half of the area of study. Credit may also be earned by advanced Navy training, Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), NRC license, NRRPT certification or ACE-reviewed company training.

The inclusion of similar courses must be reviewed by the Evaluation team. Students must submit their program plan for review to ensure that course selection is appropriate for the degree.
