"Anything with media?" In the face of digitization, new jobs are constantly being created that require creative, practice-oriented specialists and executives. Media managers have access to a variety of fields of activity - such as in publishers, TV and radio stations, PR and advertising agencies, market and opinion research institutes as well as in communication departments of associations, organizations, start-ups or large corporations. With a view to current and future requirements, the distance learning media management provides the basics of business administration, media knowledge and knowledge in marketing and media production. In addition, you will receive a sound education in cross-media management and digital editorial management. The close relationship to the media industry and the learning of tools and strategies from the practice prepare for the challenges in the profession.

Accredited degree

All current programs of IUBH are accredited by the FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation).

An accreditation is only pronounced if a study program fulfills all qualitative requirements in terms of content and structure.

The FIBAA is a kind of TÜV for academic education, which checks the quality of Bachelor and Master programs on behalf of the Accreditation Council. The accreditation is renewed every five (first accreditation) or seven (re-accreditation) years - a guarantee for the quality of our teaching.

The degree program Media Management paves the way for a variety of jobs: Whether business development, media planning, marketing, event management or communication - regardless of industry, employers are looking for well-trained media managers.

Course Overview

The distance learning media management conveys you business and media basic knowledge, such as marketing and media production. Based on this, subject-specific competences are in focus, for example "cross-media management" or "digital editorial management".

Our bachelor's degree program has a modular structure, ie you study on the basis of subject areas that are divided into so-called "modules". Within these modules, there is an introductory course and a specialization course, which systematically prepare you for completing this module. Within the modules, you will receive credits for every successful graduation (European Credit Transfer System) that documents your achievements. These ECTS credits are internationally comparable and of course recognized.


In the sixth semester, you choose your two specializations amounting to 20 ECTS. In addition you decide for at least one specialist specialization ("compulsory specializations") in the field of media management and at most one functional and branch specialization ("Wahlspezialisierung").

Adapt your distance learning to your life.

You can complete our bachelor's degree in both full-time and two part-time variations. In terms of content, these models are identical, but with the part-time variants, your weekly learning time is reduced.

The part-time study is particularly suitable for those who already have a high workload or who want to reduce their monthly costs.



In full-time study you can choose the maximum number of courses per semester. If you do not finish your studies in the designated time, the study is extended for another 18 months. During this time you can use all offers of distance learning as before free of charge. If you notice that you have less time than expected, you can switch to a different time model with a period of 3 months to the end of the month.

Part-time studies reduce your monthly tuition. At the same time, the number of courses you can choose per semester is also decreasing.

If you can not finish your degree within the designated time, your studies will be extended for another 18 months.
