Who Should Apply?
The Master of Human Resource Management program is designed for business professionals with at least four years of professional work experience and an earned bachelor's degree. The program will appeal to those who want to shift their career path into human resources as well as those who are currently employed in the HRM field and require advanced skills to move into higher level management positions. It is also suitable for those seeking to become HRM consultants and/or HRM educators.
Master of Human Resource Management Admission Requirements
We accept admission applications for our Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) program throughout the year. Evaluation of each candidate's application is based on the following:
- Application for Admission
- Payment of $75 application fee (one-time, non-refundable)
- Earned bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Organizational Learning, Leadership, Industrial Psychology or related degree from a regionally accredited college with a 2.7 GPA or higher or foreign credential equivalent established by a third party evaluation agency
- Official copies of all college/university-level transcripts (undergraduate and graduate) along with program and course descriptions if student is seeking to transfer credit
- Essay (approximately 1-2 pages) describing how the Master of Human Resource Management will help you to achieve your long- and short-term personal and professional goals
- Current resume, reflecting at least 4 years of progressive work experience
- Student Financial Agreement or financial loan documentation if student is seeking alternative funding
- Interview, via phone or in person, with program chair or member of academic affairs
Prerequisites: Students entering the program with a bachelor's degree in a non-business-related field or insufficient coursework in business may be required to take up to 6 credits, as prerequisites, in organizational behavior, management or graduate-study preparedness. Students will be required to complete these courses prior to formal acceptance into the Master of Human Resource Management program.
Foreign language students: a score of 550 or better must be achieved on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam, or demonstrate proficiency in English as established through SAT or the ACT tests, or other methods documenting the student's fluency in English.
